Pair your remote

Disconnect power at the panel and verify with a meter before wiring.

Pair the handheld to the receiver

The TEC motor side is plug-and-play, but the handheld remote has to be taught to the receiver before it will move the lift. TEC has shipped three different remote styles over the years — pick yours below.

Which remote do you have?

Pair the remote (2015+ water-resistant style)

1
Power on the lift control unit

Key the receiver ON. Don't press anything yet.

2
On the receiver: hold the LEARN button for 3 seconds, release

One button on the receiver labeled Learn. Hold, then let go.

3
On the remote: hold any button for 3 seconds, release

UP, DOWN, STOP — any button.

4
Immediately do step 3 again

Hold the same button for 3 seconds a second time. The receiver reads all the codes for that remote at once.

5
Test every button on the remote

UP, DOWN, STOP (and Light if equipped) — all should work. Repeat for additional remotes (up to 20).

Erase / clear all remotes

1
Power on, then press and HOLD the LEARN button

Keep holding. The LED on the receiver will flash several times and then go out.

2
Release

All remotes are now cleared from this receiver.

3
Test that nothing moves the lift

Press every button on every old remote — nothing should happen. Now re-pair the remotes you want using the procedure above.

Common rules — all TEC remotes

Receiver is inside the main control box. Pop the cover off; the receiver is in the lower-right corner of the enclosure. LEDs are on the underside of the board.
3-to-5 second safety delay when changing direction (UP → DOWN or DOWN → UP). Lift won't react instantly — that's normal.
DO NOT uncoil the antenna on the receiver board. Leave it the way TEC ships it.
Up to 20 remotes can be paired to one receiver.
Blue light flickering on the remote = weak battery.Replace the battery and re-pair the remote.
For Auto Control (A/C) units, the limit switch MUST be installed before the unit will operate at all — receiver pairing alone won't make the motors run. See the Set the limits page.
